What is the rental period? ๐Ÿ“…


At Sharedrobes, all items have a daily rental price. However, the recommendation for Sharers is to only accept bookings of 7 days (one week) or more. Why 7 days? 7 days gives you enough time to deliver the items, and for Renters to return them. During those period of times, the items are not available for other bookings. The recommendation for Renters is for them to consider the date they are going to use the item to be around the middle of that week. That way they'll have 2-3 days to receive it and 2-3 days to return it safely. That being said, when listing an item, you will be able to define your Minimum Rental Period, from One week (7 days) to One month (30 days). If the item is returned early, will there be any refunds in place? If the item is returned because of an issue with it, then the Sharedrobes team will look into it. If there are no issues with the item and it is returned early and received by you before the booking period is over, no refunds will be in place. It is considered the responsibility of the Renter to return the item no later than the last day of the booking.




How much does it cost to list an item?


Listing your item is free! You can even download and complete the offline form in our Sharers Guide, and send it to us at listing@sharedrobes.com, and we'll do the rest. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Your bookings are also free of fees! We don't charge any fee for your bookings, which means that you get 100% of your booking price. We only get paid when you get paid! If you have 30 or more items* that you would like to list on Sharedrobes, please email us at listing@sharedrobes.com to organise a complimentary photo session for them. ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ‘ * Benefit available only for Individual accounts (not businesses, shops and charity shops). Does not accummulate with other benefits and promotions.




I own a store, can I list my items? ๐Ÿช


Yes. If you own a store, you can list your items. When listing your items we highly recommend offering Renters both options for pick up and shipping. Owning a store will also make it easier for Renters to visit you for a Try-on. Read more about Try-on requirements here. We also advise highlighting the items you will have on Sharedrobes in your store. You may have customers walking into your store not knowing about Sharedrobes and that they can rent items from you. ๐Ÿ˜‰ What if I have more than one store? If you have two or more stores in different locations, our advise will be to create independent Sharedrobes accounts for each, so that the items can be managed by the corresponding Store Manager in each location. Another option will be to manage all listings under one account, and each time you have a booking confirmation, you communicate with the Store Manager to provide the booking information.




I own a store, can I add other team members to manage the account? ๐Ÿช


Yes. You can add other team members to manage your account. Sharedrobes members can set multiple email addresses in their account. How many team members can I add? As many as you need. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Can they log in into the account using their email? Yes. Each email address you add to your account can access it. The password is the same one you set up for the account and each email address / account member will have the same access rights. Can they also get the notifications from the account? That's completely up to you. You have full control if those emails will receive or not notifications from the account.




How much will I advertise my item for?


You are always in complete control of how much you offer your item for. At Sharedrobes we recommend that your daily rental price is 2.0% of the RRP (Recommended Retail Price) of your item if your Minimum Rental Period is One week (7 days). 1.75% if it's Two weeks (21 days). 1.5% if it's Three weeks (21 days), and 1.25% if it's One month (30 days). So for example, if your Minimum Rental Period is One week (7 days) and the RRP of your item is โ‚ฌ100.00, 2.0% of that value is โ‚ฌ2.00, and that's your daily price. That translates into โ‚ฌ14.00 for that rental (โ‚ฌ2.00 per day for 7 days). We have created a calculator to make it easier for you to determine your price. Click here to visit our Daily Rental Price Calculator, which will also consider the cleaning cost of your item after each rental. Sometimes Sharers may also browse other comparable listings, to get an idea of market Rental Price for specific items. Sharedrobes will have no minimum requirements for the RRP on any item. The minimum daily rental price will be โ‚ฌ1.50 for all items. Can I list my item more than once, each for a different Minimum Rental Period? Yes, you can, and we also recommend it. That will give Renters different options and pricing to rent your item depending on how long they will need it for.
We then recommend you adding the links to the other links inside the item's descriptions, indicating their daily price so that Renters can easily find them.




What photos can I upload? ๐Ÿ“ธ


Our community of Renters prefer impeccably presented photos of your item and ones that showcase it in its best light. Try to upload a full-length photo of the front and back of the item as well as any photos that show specific details. The following photos are acceptable:

  • Photos with a clear background that make the item stand out
  • Photos of your item from different angles
  • Photos of you wearing the item at your event
  • Photos of you (or someone else) wearing the item while hiding the face
  • Clean, well-lit photos
  • Professional photos
The following photos are not acceptable:
  • Photos with multiple people in it. This is confusing for Renters to know which item is actually available
  • Photos of the same item but in a different colour
  • Photos of a similar style
  • Screenshots of your item

Does not accummulate with other benefits and promotions. Do you have any tips? Most current smartphones have great cameras on them, so yours probably is no exception.
The easiest way is to stand in front of a tall mirror, one that shows your entire body, and take a picture of yourself in the mirror, wearing the clothing item(s). Make sure the room is well-lit, and that your background is clean and organised. If you want to hide the face of the model, that's okay. You can crop it out from the image or take the photo without it.




Can I add Youtube videos to my listings?


Yes. Videos are a great way to make listings more attractive and you can add YouTube videos straight into the listing's descriptions. When posting or editing a listing, you can simply add a link to a YouTube video to the listing description and save it. Our system will automatically recognise YouTube links and add the videos under the listing description text. Is it possible to add more than one video in a listing? Yes, it is possible to add as many videos as you wish to each listing. All videos will be reviewed by the Sharedrobes team to make sure they are compliant with our Terms and Conditions. This will also protect you and all members from videos that could be published with offensive or inappropriate content. Sharedrobes will reserve the right to remove videos and/or deactivate or cancel a member's account.




When will I get paid?


Payouts to Sharers will be made within 48 hours (2 days) after the rental end date. If the payout date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it may be made on the next business day. Payouts will be made to your nominated bank account, which you will be able to update by visiting your profile settings.




Is there any restriction on what can be listed?


The Sharedrobes platform exists to provide value to members and allow them to tap into their under-utilised clothing items. There is no requirement for the items to be from a designer label and all store brands are welcome. Most clothing, footwear and accessory items are accepted so long as they meet the following criteria:

  • Daily Rental Price is at least โ‚ฌ1.50.
  • The item is in excellent condition.
The below do not meet the Sharedrobes listing criteria:
  • Items with noticeable stains, pulls or tears.
There is no limit to how many items you can list, so long as the above is adhered to. All listings will be reviewed by the Sharedrobes team before going live to make sure they are compliant with our Terms and Conditions. This will also protect you and all members from listings that could be published with offensive or inappropriate content. Sharedrobes will reserve the right to remove listings and/or deactivate or cancel a member's account.




What will happen if a Renter asks me if they can try the item?


You may receive requests from Renters to try on your items, through our direct messaging system. It will be up to you, whether you are available to offer a try on. Try-On - In Person The Sharedrobes platform is built to be on the go, therefore, if your Renter tries on the item in person and then decides to proceed with the reservation afterwards, they can securely pay and book on the spot, by visiting your account. Try-On - By Post You may be asked by a Renter to post your item to them, so they can try it on first. If you agree, please adhere to the steps below to ensure the Try On of your item is completed with the upmost security in mind:

  • You both must agree to the Try-On.
  • Ask the Renter to send you a booking request as normal, for when they would like to try it on.
  • Accept the booking as you would normally.
  • With a Try-On, the Renter will start the booking by paying as normal, but then will get Refunded the rental price, minus a โ‚ฌ2.90 service fee and the shipping cost that you have set.
  • The Renter will be able to keep the item for a maximum of 24 Hours only, otherwise, the full rental price will be charged.
  • You and the Renter will be required to contact Sharedrobes Support and advise that this booking is a Try-On only.
  • You, as Sharer, will receive back the shipping amount as a payout to you.
All items on delivery and return need a Tracking Number, to ensure scheduled dates are adhered to.




How do I know when and where to post the item to?


After you accept a booking request, you can view all the details for the booking in your account Inbox.




What will happen if someone doesnโ€™t return my item?


If you would like to request confirmation that your item is on its way back to you, we will encourage you to contact your Renter through the Sharedrobes platform by sending them a message. If you attempt to contact the Renter on multiple occasions with no success, contact us at support@sharedrobes.com.




How do I prepare the item for posting? ๐Ÿ“ฆ


It is important to prepare your product before sending it out to the Renter to create a good impression. Products should be sent out clean, crease-free and ready to wear.

  • Clothing: You can place clothing in garment bags or wrapped in tissue paper to reduce creasing.
  • Bags & Accessories: Wrap bags in tissue paper to avoid scratches and place in a proper dust bag.
  • Shoes: Wrap in tissue paper and place the shoes in a dust bag and box.
Additional recommendations:
  • Wrap each item individually.
  • If possible ensure no items are touching the side of the box.
  • Use protective padding materials such as polystyrene chips, polystyrene foam or blocks, shredded paper or bubble wrap to fill out the box.
  • Seal boxes with heavy duty tape and not sellotape.
All items will need a Tracking Number, to ensure scheduled dates can be verified.




Can I list an outfit or a set of clothing items? ๐Ÿ‘’๐Ÿงฅ๐Ÿ‘—


Of course.
Many Renters will be looking to rent complete outfits/sets for their events and celebrations, so listing full sets will make their life much easier. The best way to do this is by including all the items in the photographs of one listing. Example: you are listing a dress. In that listing, you show the dress while at the same time wearing the jacket and the hat that goes with it.
Then, inside the description of that listing, you add the URL (links) to the other items, so Renters can jump to them and also book them if they want it.




How much do I charge for shipping? ๐Ÿšš


If you select Shipping as one of your delivery options (the other one is Pick Up), our system will ask you for the shipping cost. When calculating your shipping cost, make sure to choose a delivery option that provides tracking. The addition of insurance cover to the shipping is recommended but is at your discretion. Your shipping cost depends entirely on the above, your listed items, your location, where you are shipping to, and the service you use to ship them. Here are some ideas:

  • If you are shipping from Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช:
    • You can use An Post's Calculator here, to estimate a shipping cost.
    • You can use Parcel Motel.
    • You can use Parcel Connect.
    • There are many other options.
  • If you are shipping from the UK ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง:
    • You can use Royal Mail's Calculator here, to estimate a shipping cost.
    • You can use Parcelforce.
    • You can use ParcelHero.
    • There are many other options.




Can I share a link to my listings? ๐Ÿ”—


Yes.
All accounts inside Sharedrobes have a unique URL (link) that you can share with everyone. And just like the accounts, every listing has a unique URL (link). This will make it easy for you to share your account and listings with your friends, family and followers. You can even create your own clothing rental store by leveraing Sharedrobes' marketplace.




Can I use Sharedrobes' platform to launch and manage my own clothing rental business?


Yes, you can.
Since each member account and each listing have their unique URL (link), that makes it super easy for you to share them. As an idea, you could get a unique domain for your clothing rental business and point it to your Sharedrobes account. So if your domain is www.mybeautifulrentals.com (as an example), every time your customers visit that link, it will take them to your Sharedrobes account and listings. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Feel free to contact us if you need more assistance or if you have any question.




How is it guaranteed that I will get my item back and in good condition?


  • All Sharedrobes members will go through an ID verification with their first transaction so that they are identified. You can choose to wait until the Renter is verified if it's their first transaction.
  • All Sharedrobes members have to accept our Transaction Agreement with each booking acknowledging their responsibility towards the item(s).
  • Any Sharedrobes member that violate our Terms and Conditions, and the Transaction Agreement, will have their account's suspended.
  • Renters are instructed to not clean the item(s) after usage because you, the Sharer, know better how to clean them.
  • Always apply judgement when accepting a booking request. You have three days to evaluate the request and contact the Renter to clarify questions you might have.
